Granny Duty

Hi , Lorien from GetTheFreedomDream here. I've got Granny duty today, one of the highlights of my week. My oldest daughter waits tables twice a week for family fun money and the Granny's get to mind the kids. Most of the time, the other Granny gets to do it because she's closer and I see the kids as often as I like. It's her chance to have them. But she's having some medical issues that make it hard for her to have little Syd (9 months old) both days so I'm pinch hitting. I wasn't willing for my own kids to ever go to daycare, my grand kids aren't going either. I kept Cy and Isaac when they were babies so I don't mind that Grammy Smokey got Chase and now Sydney. Like I said I get to spend as much time with them as I want. I am very grateful to have the ability to step in and help whenever it's needed. I don't have to say no, or maybe if I can re-arrange my work schedule. I can just say yes. Lots of Granny's don't have that option, heck lots of Mommy's don't, Dad's either. It takes two

Sunday is generally a day of contemplation for me. I look at the week that has just passed; the choices I've made and the actions I've taken and see how they stack up against my goals. For the most part, I am pleased. I have a spread sheet I use to keep myself accountable to the things I wish to do on a regular basis. Keeps me honest about where my time actually goes. Mondays find me focused and moving forward. When a choice presents itself around usage of time, I have very clear desired outcomes in my life and I make the choice that moves me towards them. It's been a process. Getting clear about what I wanted my life to look like was a process. Clearing out years of emotional baggage and limiting beliefs was a process. Deciding to discipline myself to do what others would not in the short term so I could have what others did not in the long term was a process. But I'm there now and it's working. I don't have much to say today, it's Thursday evening and I'm getting tomorrow stuff done tonight because tomorrow I'm waking up to an exciting day of not normals. I'm meeting some friends and going downtown to see a women who's name I can't remember. It sounds like she might be from India. Based on what they've told me about her it's going to be a treat. I've spent a total of five weeks in India. A country of enormous contradictions by American standards. I was in a village once where all the homes had thatched roofs. They had no running water. At one end of the village was a pipe that the women got water from and carried it back to their houses. In the middle of the village was a small bath house. One side for men and one for women. Straight Talk About Change

Hi , Lorien here from GetTheFreedomDream. Short and sweet letter today about what change is. It's not random or something that happens to you. It's a choice that you make. It happens through you. For Instance, I used to be fat. Not chubby, fat, really fat. I am 5' 6 tall and I weighed 280 lbs. Now being fat never bothered me and I never bought into the fat = bad health BS that helps the diet industry remain one of the most profitable industries on the planet. In fact, I was very healthy, never got sick, was very active and the fact that I was obese never kept me from doing anything. What changed? My eating habits. Not because I thought I needed to do something about being fat. Because the study of humans and how we are designed to live is a fascination for me. So my diet has changed over the years. Hi ,My Tom got two business messages today that I found entertaining. The first was from a fellow who has been in Amway sense 1975. He was writing to complain about the fact that in all the home businesses he's tried, his retention rate has been 1 in 75.But I have this hot new deal and you should join me.DON'T BE THAT GUY! Anyone who has been in a profitable business like Amway (they had their biggest year ever last year), for 39 years is either not trainable, just wants their products at cost or doesn't want to do the work it takes to be successful. Either way, don't use the fact that you've been unsuccessful for 39 years in one deal to sell another one. How do I know he's unsuccessful? Would you be looking for a new deal if your current gig was making more then enough?
